San Sushi located in Cockeysville, MD, was the first Sushi Restaurant in Cockeysville, started in 1994 by Sam Sesum. With Sam's hospitality and philosophy of quality and value, San Sushi quickly grew and expanded. If you do not see what you want on the menu, ask and chances are they can meet or exceed your expectations.
The Sushi Bar has plenty of seating for those who like to watch the Sushi Chefs at work and checkout what delicacies are available like Lobster, Giant Clam and Uni (Sea Urchin). San Sushi offers a complete Sushi selection prepared in Maki, Nigiri, and Sashimi styles. Maki is assorted vegetables, seafood and rice rolled on seaweed paper. Nigiri is slices of seafood on top of formed rice blocks. Sashimi is raw seafood slices.
Sam's brother, Noi, has joined Sam with running the restaurant. The Specials Board features some Noi's creations like the Yellow Sun Roll which is yellow tail tuna with sun dried tomatoes with a sweet wasabi dressing, Tuna Tataki which is tuna sashimi with a spicy peanut wasabi sauce and a condiment of spicy tempora flakes with cold eda mame beans, or Lobster-Tini which is a lobster and mango cocktail with an orange citrus sauce.
San Sushi does not have a liquor license so it is BYOB or Saki. They will be glad keep your beer on ice, or warm up your Saki. So sit back, relax and enjoy a great meal.
Sam also has a fish market in Timonium, Tako Seafood, where he sells restaurant and sushi grade fish and the ingredients for making sushi for the more adventurous. This is where he processes and distributes fish, lobster and shell fish for the family restaurants. He has great deals on Lobster, Crab Meat and Tuna. He also has a small sushi bar there. The atmosphere is organic, but if you need a sushi fix its a great find.
